Melissa Kleweno | RN, BSN, ACT | Owner
I had the opportunity to work in the traditional medical field as a Registered Nurse and EMT for twelve years. I loved the obstetrics and emergency room medicine, but was continually bothered by the epidemic amounts of Dis-ease in our small community. It became clear to me that our traditional ways of pill pushing and surgery was much less effective than preventing Dis-ease through lifestyle practices.
My desire to practice nursing within a health and wellness based system lead me to the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture. Dr. Amaro’s program enabled me to combine my traditional medical training with Japanese Meridian Acupuncture and allowed me to offer a whole new type of health care to our community.
Health Essentials was created when my acupuncture training took me out of the rural hospital setting. I realized that there was a need for a safe, relaxing, educational and beneficial alternative to the traditional medical options that were available in Eastern Colorado and Western Kansas. There was also a huge need for quality organic and gluten free foods, as well as high quality supplements and herbs. With that vision in mind, Health Essentials was born.
Our goal at Health Essentials is to Empower You Through Good Health”. We have been blessed with extremely talented practioners and a knowledgeable staff which enables our clinic to offer a wide variety of health care services and high quality products to our community.
As my love for holistic healthcare grew, I was able to expand my educational opportunities. I became a Reiki Master, NAET Practioner, Medical Intuition and Energy Medicine Practioner, First Line Therapy Wellness Educator, and received my Natural Wellness Certificate from Clayton College of Natural Health. I am currently enrolled in the Clayton College Doctor of Naturopathy for Healthcare Professionals, and am also in the process of completing a Masters in Nursing, Nurse Practioner program. I am also a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association.
Holistic Healthcare Practioners have a responsibility to teach our clients how to safely combine natural wellness with traditional medications and procedures. There is definitely a time and a place for both healthcare modalities and I am very happy that I am able to work closely with the traditional medical practioners in our tri-state area to provide a continuity of care for our mutual clients. As healthcare professionals, we have a responsibility to you, our clients, to provide you with safe, effective options. It is important to remember that just because something is “natural”, does not make it safe, or because the doctor recommended it, does not make it the best option.
Tess Phillips | Licensed Esthetician
The way I look at skin care is the more natural it is the better it is. My skin care products are not completely organic products but are all botanically based and have a lot of earth's natural extracts and oils in them. I offer a line of facials that include a basic facial, a customized facial for your skin only, an anti-aging facial and acne treatments. All of the facials I do increase the moisture in your skin if you are lacking it and increase the blood circulation to your face.
I offer Microdermabrasion and Organic Lactic Acid Chemical Peels. I believe that both of these services are the most natural way of anti-aging. By exfoliating the top layer of skin they both help promote less fine lines and wrinkles, decrease hyperpigmitaion and age spots, decrease scarring from acne, heals acne, and creates a softer more even texture.
As and Esthetician I also offer waxing services along with tinting of the eyelashes and eyebrows. And last but not least, along with the massage therapist, I am also licensed to do Body Treatmeants which are very beneficial to the health of your body depending on your needs.
Cindy Nider | Registered Certified Massage Therapist
I joined the staff at Health Essentials while doing my massage hands-on internship. I attended Myotherapy Institute of Massage at Salt Lake City, Utah. While attending the institute, I learned many types of theraeutic massage and was also given a comprehensive study of the human body and its systems. There are many benefits to massage and experts estimate that 80-90 percent of disease may be stress-related. Through massage, we can ease stress, improve blood circulation that will release toxins in the body, and help our clients relax. In an age of technical and, at times, impersonal medicine, massage offers a drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body's natural ability to heal itself.
Massage can have many positive effects in many areas of your life. Besides increasing relaxation and decreasing anxiety, massage lowers your blood pressure, increases circulation, improves recovery from injury, helps you to sleep better and can improve your concentration. It also reduces fatique and gives your more energy to handle stressfull situations.
Swedish Massage, Hot Stone Therapy and Trigger Point Therapy are a few types of massage that I will be offering to my clients at Health Essentials. Where relaxing your through therapeutic massage and natural products, we can help you balance Mind, Body and Spirit.

My belief is that living healthy is a big part of being happy and emotionally balanced. Integrating healthy lifestyles such as getting regualr massages to get rid of all the toxins in your body and eating healthy foods is a big step towards living healthier.
